I often feel like building a platform is like trying to move a giant mountain that won’t budge. I’m not capable of moving mountains. I see Christian writers with their thousands of followers and think…I’m not sure I will EVER get there.

And then I have to remind myself that God has called me to share the hope that I have in Jesus, not build a platform.

My purpose becomes clouded by what others are doing, and I start to lose faith in the One who has called me.

The disciples had the same response to Jesus when they were unable to drive out a demon from a boy suffering from seizures.

Jesus shared that because they had so little faith, they couldn’t do it. He said to them, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move.” (Matthew 17:19,20).

Jesus was not criticizing the disciples, but encouraging them to greater faith.

As I write and create for Him, I can trust that while I may not see it, He is moving mountains to touch the hearts of my readers.

I don’t have to reach the highest peak of thousands of followers. I need to have faith that He is removing scales from the eyes of those who don’t know Him yet, and deepening the convictions of my readers through my words.

My position in Christ is no less significant than anyone else that He has called, and through my faith-filled efforts and the power of God, nothing will be impossible. (Matthew 17:21)

Friend, maybe you’re not a writer or you’re not trying to build a platform, but you have something in your life that feels like an insurmountable climb. Have faith that our God is strengthening your faith as you trust Him to move this giant mountain in your life.
