Realigned Requests
Sometimes we need to realign our requests with God’s will, not ours.
In the book of Acts, a crippled beggar was placed at the temple gate every day to beg. Rather than give this outcast the money he asked for, Peter took his hand and healed him in the name of Jesus.
Instantly, the man stood and his feet and ankles became strong.
He walked, jumped, and praised God and all the people recognized him as the crippled beggar. They marveled at what had happened to him. This man who sat paralyzed and poor at the temple gate now walked as a living testimony to God’s power- restored and rejoicing.
Often, what we see as our greatest need, is not what God gives us.
The beggar asked for money, but through Peter, the Lord brought wellness and lavished a new life.
Peter spoke to the onlookers who had gathered, sharing the events that led to Jesus’ death. You disowned Him before Pilate. You handed Him over to be killed. You rejected the Holy and Righteous One and you killed the Author of Life.
And God raised Him from the dead. Another unexpected play by God. The people wanted Jesus dead, but He was very much alive.
And by faith in the name of Jesus, this man standing was made strong. We can’t underestimate God’s power to do exceedingly more than we want or expect. The beggar wanted money—God gave him life. The people wanted Jesus dead, but His death brought us freedom and eternity in heaven.
“And they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.” Acts 3: 10
May we realign our requests with God’s perfect will.
May we rejoice over His redemptive work.
May we understand His power to heal.
May we marvel over His incredible works.
May we share all that He has done for us.
I'm so glad you're here!
There is abundant, joy-filled life available to us through Jesus! The world is dark but there is always hope in the bright light of Him. Prayer is powerful.
Love,
Kimberly
