Family Focus

Nothing brings greater joy to my heart than spending time with my family. Since they were little to now as big, adult kids, we have placed great value on being together. Of course, there were seasons when they didn’t necessarily think we were as cool as we thought we were…the teen, college and even young adult years when they are blazing their own trails and figuring out who they are can be tough as you see them pulling away. But we never stopped family dinners together when they were home, never stopped reaching out, never stopped encouraging them, and never stopped praying for them. We can see the fruit of keeping the family ties strong. While no family is perfect, I’m so grateful that the Lord has given us healthy relationships with one another and the desire to be together (even though we live apart).

On my blog, I hope to share some insights on keeping God at the center of our family, our traditions, travel time together, and lessons learned in the hard seasons of life. Of course, we are still in the middle of all of this! I’m figuring things out as we go and as chapters begin and end in each of our lives. The Lord has been faithful to guide and direct us as we take everything to Him in prayer. Ultimately, I love watching His plans unfold in our kids’ lives as they walk and grow in Him.

“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.” 3 John 4
